Original Welcome Post

Hi, my name is Marcie, and I am a native Las-Vegan. I am looking to finish my degrees and become a teacher. I have four great children and already spend a lot of time at their schools, so I might as well get paid for it! The literary themes I feel I would use the most would be "man vs man", "overcoming adversity", and "family is most important". The literary criticisms I will probably use are New Historicism and Reader Response. I hope to do well in this class so that I can quickly further my career.

I was also born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. I really enjoyed growing up here and I have gotten used to being able to get anything I need or want at any time of day. I visited other places and, not thinking, try to run to the convenience store only to find they closed at 6pm on a Sunday. I hope this class is helpful for both of us!

I also am looking forward to this class and the feedback from our instructor and fellow students. I am a native Las Vegan and have 4 children. While, they are not grown and on their own yet, they are all in school. So, during the day when they are in school, I will be attempting to finish my degree too.

I like your choice of themes, I think they will be beneficial for you to use. I'm sorry, I did not see anyplace where we were told we have to reply to two people for the Welcome assignment. I apparently missed it too. I went back and double checked and still did not see where we were told to do this so I'm not sure why it is included in the rubric.

I am interested in doing the responses for the 7 make up points. However, I just wanted to let you know, I did not originally do the 2 responses because it was not in the instructions to do so for the Welcome. I checked multiple times.

Also, how do I respond to 2 people now that the discussion is closed? Would you like for me to email you my responses?

I have submitted my 2 responses and resubmitted the assignment.

Great! I've updated the assignment so we can all breathe a sign of relief and consider this week the week of the eraser! Turns out some of the functionality we had in Angel is not available in Canvas. Live and learn. Things should get easier with time. Be sure to resubmit all three RJs together tomorrow and let me know if you don't see two classmates' work to review.
